December Garden Mosaic

The final garden mosaic of 2009.

Yippee, It's Snowing Again!

It may be cold outside, but inside I am keeping warm baking.

Mini Christmas Puddings hot from the oven.

Mincepies with orange pastry and homemade mincemeat.
Christmas Rocky Road.

I'll post the recipe on my recipe blog.

Mistletoe is now hanging at the bottom of the stairs. I'm still waiting!! lol

We started celebrating yesterday with a family get together. Luckily everyone was able to get here before we had more snow.

Mincepie anyone?

The North Wind Doth Blow ...

... and we shall have snow.
Waking up to snow this morning.
I love the quiet that snow brings.

I couldn't resist putting on the lights.
As soon as it was daylight, I went out for a walk with my camera.

Eager to be out, I didn't stop for wellies!

Back home again, I'm glad I picked my greenery yesterday.
Snow candles?
This afternoon the sun is shining.

And Maurice went outside for the first time today and played in the snow.

Christmas Decorating

I've almost finished decorating now, just a little tweaking here and there!

On the front door is the wreath I made from material sourced from local woodland.

The hall and landing lights are trimmed with ivy and large, green baubles to match the ones on the tree.

The hall mirror hasn't escaped the greenery!

The stairs are festooned with "Holly" tinsel, foliage and homemade fabric decorations.

On the kitchen windowsill are two Poinsettias and lanterns.

My vintage tree and decorations are on the worktop. They must be vintage, they were mine when I was a child! ;)

Painted metal trees also on the windowsill

and the ceramic tree made by my husband.

Today I foraged for some more greenery and this is my kitchen flower arrangement. The holly berries are from our garden.

The two arrangements in the living room are a mixture of bought flowers and collected foliage.

Tomorrow is my last day at work before Christmas. Snow is forecast for tomorrow, I can't remember the last time we had snow this close to Christmas. Hope all your Christmas preparations are going according to plan, best wishes Pj x

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I have nearly finished putting up our Christmas decorations. This year our tree is decorated in green and white. I am calling it the "snowflake tree" as even the ribbon and green baubles have snowflakes on them - serendipity.
Crochet snowflakes using Lucy's pattern.
I have had these snowflakes for a few years.
New green baubles from my friend's shop.
A few pictures of the remainder of our living-room:-
Arrangement on the windowsill.
My Nana's vase.
I couldn't resist this glass tree!
I hung baubles from these heart decorations, they were a birthday gift from a friend.
And a sneak peek at one of my Christmas presents.
I fell in love with this reindeer tray.
