Pre-lockdown 2.0 Outings

In England we are back in lockdown, this time for the month of November.  A couple of days beforehand, I visited Winchester to do some Christmas shopping.  Usually I will go to Winchester quite often, but this was my first visit since the Christmas market in 2019 because of the pandemic.
King Alfred was crowned King of Wessex in 871 and made Winchester his capital.

The next day we went for a late afternoon wander around our favourite woodland.

We spotted one deer and these fly agaric toadstools

The following morning dawned very foggy, so I took my camera out for a walk around the village.

That evening we had fun in the garden with some sparklers as it was Guy Fawkes Night.

Normally we would attend an organised public display, but this year they are all cancelled.

A Snapshot of My October

At the allotment I finished planting onions and garlic.
We harvested our pumpkins and squashes.
My Mini was loaded up with pumpkins three times!
Some of the Hundredweight pumpkins were indeed huge!

Our largest one weighed 2 and a half stone!
I attempted a Stars Wars theme for Halloween this year.

I puree the flesh to make cakes and scones.

The seeds I spice and roast.
For Halloween I painted two sweet jars, one with a bat and one with a ghost.

In the garden the dahlias continued to put on a show as the weather was still mild.

We went for our monthly visit to RHS Wisley.

I received an invite to view the Stitching Together banner at the Maltings, Farnham.
This was a community project that I participated in during lockdown.
Sewists were given a drawing by a school pupil to turn into an embroidery.
The finished banner is a map of Farnham by artist Alice Kettle.

This was my square.
We also went for lots of lovely walks in and around our village.

This October I did Vlogtober on YouTube, so if you are interested in seeing more of what I got up to during October, please visit my channel The Snail Garden.  I enjoyed vlogging, so plan to continue throughout November into Vlogmas.  Please subscribe to my channel and feel free to leave a lovely comment.  It is much easier to chat on YouTube as Blogger doesn't allow me to reply directly to a comment on here.  If you do leave a comment on my blog posts, please pop back to see my comment below your own, as it is the only way I can reply.  Possibly it is something to do with the age of my blog, I've been around for a while. :)
