Day 14 on DROPS Advent Calendar was another pattern that wasn't "tree-friendly", so I have substituted this Fir Cone Pattern from DROPS Christmas Workshop 2011.
Again I used a 4mm hook and Patons Dk Smoothie in Red and Patons Dk Pearl in White.
CONE:

DECREASING TIP:
Dec 1 dc as follows: Crochet 1 dc, but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), work next dc, but when doing the last pull through pull thread through all loops on hook = 1 dc dec.
CHRISTMAS CONE:
Crochet 5 ch with crochet hook size 2.5 mm with 1 thread red Cotton Viscose and 2 threads Glitter. Form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Crochet 10 dc in ring and finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
ROUND 2: 1 ch, * 1 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 15 dc.
ROUND 3: 1 ch over ch, 1 dc in each dc
ROUND 4: 1 ch over ch, * 1 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 20 dc.
ROUND 5: 1 ch over ch, 1 dc in each dc
ROUND 6: 1 ch over ch, * 1 dc in each of the first 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 25 dc.
ROUND 7: 1 ch over ch, * 1 dc in each of the first 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* = 30 dc.
ROUND 8: 1 ch over ch, 1 dc in next dc, * skip 2 dc, 7 tr in next dc, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc * repeat from *-* a total of 4 times and finish with skip 2 dc, 7 tr in next dc, skip 2 dc and 1 sl st in dc from beg of round.
ROUND 9-15: crochet M.1A 1 time, then repeat M.1.B 2 times and finish with 1 sl st in dc from beg of round as shown in diagram.
NOTE! From round 14 inclusive continue with 1 thread white Cotton Viscose.
ROUND 16: 1 ch, 1 dc in sl st from previous round, 1 dc in ch, 1 dc in first tr, * 1 dc in ch, 1 dc in dc, 1 dc in ch, 1 dc in tr, 1 dc in ch, 1 dc in tr *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 dc in ch, 1 dc in dc, 1 dc in ch and 1 sl st in dc from beg of round = 30 dc.
ROUND 17: 1 ch over ch, * 1 dc in first dc, crochet the next 2 dc tog – SEE DECREASING TIP! - *, repeat from *-* = 20 dc.
ROUND 18: 1 ch over ch, crochet 1 dc in each dc.
FILL CONE NOW!
ROUND 19: 1 ch over ch, 1 dc in each dc
ROUND 20: 1 ch in ch, crochet 2 dc tog across the round = 10 dc.
ROUND 21: 1 ch over ch, crochet 2 dc tog across the round = 5 dc.
ROUND 22: crochet 1 sl st in ch, crochet approx 35 ch, crochet 1 sl st in 3rd dc. Cut and fasten thread.
