A Walk in the Snow

Yesterday evening it started snowing! :)
This morning the front garden looked like this
and the back garden looked like this.
If there is one thing guaranteed to get me out and about early in the morning, it is snow.
Pretty views of the brook

and a beautiful sunrise.
The village pond is frozen over.

Walking back by our house,
I see paw prints in the snow.  Is this the way Maurice went a-hunting last night?  He didn't want to stay in, unlike Ella who much prefers to stay at home.
Crocuses with a topping of snow, by a village sign.  I stopped off at the allotments to pick some Brussels sprouts and sprouting broccoli before continuing my walk.

My entering Narnia moment.
This woodland is my favourite place when it has been snowing.

Back home again an hour later
The sun is shining and the snow is already melting off the trees.
A Field Fare high in the oaks behind our house.
These birds overwinter in the UK.
Back indoors and Maurice is all snuggled up in his igloo - he probably won't get out of here until it is his tea-time!
