Anyone who follows my blog won't be surprised to hear that I have been baking this week with an Easter theme. :) I love to celebrate holidays with homemade treats for my family. This year I have made:-
Mini Chocolate Nests,
Rose-flavoured Macaroons,
Fondant Bunnies for decorating my baking,
Mint Chocolate Cupcakes,
some with bunnies on and some with nests
and a Simnel Cake.
Here is a before photo, just in case disaster struck whilst it was under the grill!
I watched it like a hawk and managed not to melt the icing! :)
The finished cake, decorated with more bunnies and eggs. I used Delia's recipe from here.
To decorate our living-room I knitted this chicken,
which my Husband and Son seem to think is a toy that they can re-arrange!! :)
Even more bunnies! These felt ones are cut using a Tim Holtz magnetic die and my Big Shot Machine.
They are hanging on my Easter "tree",
along with the baskets and eggs that I have previously posted about.
Outside the weather has been mixed, more what we expect of this time of year. The Amelanchier is in full bloom
and I have potted up this pretty Ranunculus on the patio. I have also been sowing seeds in the greenhouse and my Husband has been up the old allotment, planting some main crop potatoes and sowing veggie seeds.
My husband has this week off work, so we are hoping for some good weather to go out for some walks.
Wishing you all a Very Happy Easter, Pj x
