Mother's Day

Last Sunday as you know was Mother's Day.  Unfortunately I didn't get to spend the day with either my Mum or my children, so I posted a card and gift to my Mum.
My Son sent some chocolates to me
and this card was from my Daughter.
In the afternoon, my Husband and I decided to visit Clandon Park to see the field of daffodils there.

I have never seen so many daffodils.

In the garden there is a Hinemihi - a Maori meeting house

 and a grotto.
We looked inside the church of St Peter & St Paul.

Next we went inside the house.

The Marble Hall.

 The Saloon.
 The Green Drawing Room.
Below stairs is the small Surrey Infantry Museum.  I was interested to see two crocheted scarves.
This one was made by Queen Mary in 1939
and the second one was made by Queen Victoria during the Boer War.  Such scarves were given to selected soldiers for distinguished conduct.
Back outside and the sun had finally made an appearance.  We admired the field of daffodils once more before returning home.
