Perch Hill
Saturday we got up bright and early as we had planned a trip to Sarah Raven's garden at Perch Hill. The weather was mild, but overcast.
The flowers more than made up for the grey sky! There was a profusion of colour everywhere we looked. We had visited this garden many years ago and we were not disappointed on our return visit.
The stars of the garden were the dahlias.
There were lots of zinnias
and salvias.
Tucked up one corner of the garden was the beautifully laid out kitchen garden.
We headed back into the flower garden.
Near the farmhouse the planting was very soft
with lots of this lovely grass
and a robin singing in a tree.
To the side of the house were the trial gardens
with some chrysanthemums beginning to bloom.
To the rear of the old farmhouse is an oast house
and a courtyard garden.
A couple of cute canines were wandering the gardens.
In front of the glasshouse salad crops and herbs were growing.
The lady herself was harvesting salad leaves for the restaurant.
We ate lunch in the glasshouse.
Spinach and feta filo pie with quinoa salad for my Husband
and roasted tomato Thai soup for me. Both were delicious!
The tables were beautifully decorated.
Time to leave this stunning garden.
Apologies for so many photos, but Sarah Raven's garden is a feast for the eyes and I wanted to share that with you all. If you are able to visit the garden I would really recommend it.
Best wishes, Pj x
