September 2020 - Autumn Walks

We live a short drive away from an area that was once RAF Greenham Common.  The base was closed in 1992 and the runway has since been removed allowing nature to claim back the land.
We did a circular walk around one end of the airfield, picking blackberries as we went along.  Cattle and horses graze freely on the common.

We watched a flock of woodlark foraging amongst the grasses.

Throughout September we enjoyed many walks local to our village.  We are very fortunate to be able to step out of our front door, in a modern village and walk straight out into woods and along public footpaths that take us past beautiful fields.
At this time of year the hedgerows are full of architectural seed heads.

Our son also enjoys walking, but I'm too slow for his long legs! :)
I collected a few conkers for an autumnal display.

We made a friend on one walk.
