Birthday Season

For our family, June is a month of birthdays, which means lots of birthday cake!
I decorated our son's cake with his favourite Pokemon.
My Mum made a birthday cake for me.
A gingerbread cake for my husband.
My parents stayed with us and we celebrated with our not-so-little babies.
June is also the month of roses in our garden.

One afternoon we visited the beautiful rose garden at Mottisfont.
The font from which Mottisfont derives.

The cellarium, wine cellar and larder for the priory.

During June I did some bundle dyeing, using foraged materials from around the village.
The fabric was mordanted with soya milk and I wanted a baseline test of how the fabric would take the leaf prints without any additional mordants.

I knitted my birthday minis into my Northeasterly Blanket
and finished my Together Shawl.
I you would like to see these projects in more detail, I have vlogged about them and what else I was up to during June here on my YouTube channel.
