The New Year

We started the new year quietly. With everyone having gone back to their own homes, my husband & I decided to go for a walk in our favourite woodland.

All too soon, it was time to take down the Christmas decorations.

During January, my daughter and I tried our hand at pottery for the first time.  We started with making a paint palette.

Then with the help of Penny, the potter, we made a water pot on the wheel.

After our efforts at pottery, we treated ourselves to a lovely lunch.

Mid January, during a brief visit from the sun, I went for a local walk.  We are very fortunate to have lots of public footpaths nearby.

One frosty morning, I was up to see the sun rise.

I didn't plan on going for a long walk, but it was such a beautiful sunrise and I just kept walking.

Early morning is the best time to see wildlife.

Our January ended on a sad note, with a farewell to our beloved Maurice.
