Mid September it was great to be back at Melmerby Hall with friends for the third Curious Handmade Country House Retreat.
Up early the first morning I went for a short walk.
Back indoors and time for some knitting.
Helen had gifted us with a copy of her Wildflower Hill Shawl and two skeins of Arranmore Light,
so it was time to cast on and warm up by the fire.
We were each lucky to receive some beautiful gifts from other attendees.
After a delicious lunch
we went for a walk to the village shop
and then it was time to head back to the hall
for the retreat mini market.
The next day we had a group photo taken and as many of us had knitted a So Faded Jumper so we had a photo us wearing our jumpers.
Mette hosted a basket weaving workshop in the afternoon. This is Mette's beautiful basket
and my wonky one! :)
I went for a walk out into the grounds and woodland.
Then back to the house for some more knitting on my shawl.
All too soon it was time to say goodbye the next morning.
I dropped Deb off back home and went to a hotel for the night as I planned to visit the Lace Guild museum the next morning.
Quite a grand room for a Travelodge!
The next morning I headed to The Hollies where the Lace Guild has a small display.
