On the Trail of the Bloomsbury Group

The next morning we planned to visit Charleston Farmhouse the home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant and a popular place to visit by other members of the Bloomsbury Group, but first we headed to the nearby Berwick Church to view the murals painted by Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Quentin Bell during WWII.

A short drive down the road and we were at Charleston Farmhouse which also has a beautifully decorated interior, but unfortunately photography isn't allowed inside the house.
We were given a fascinating and informative tour of the house and studio then we walked around the garden.

Time for a cup of tea, before out next destination.
Next we drove to Monk's House the home to Leonard and Virginia Woolf.

The tiny kitchen.

Vanessa's bedroom/garden room.

Virginia's writing room in the garden.

We then walked in Virginia's last footsteps to the river.

Lewes in the distance.

Zoomed in.
