October Happenings at Home

We have had a busy year so far, but I am at home a lot too! ;)  There has been gardening and crafting, as well as the day to day life stuff.
October in the Garden
Bringing a little sunshine into the kitchen with this beautiful dahlia from the patio.

Some of the roses are still in bloom.
The tomatoes have done well in the greenhouse this year.
The chrysanthemums have started flowering on the patio.
We had our first frost at the end of October, before it warmed up again!
At the Allotment
I have been getting the allotment in shape for winter and have planted over-wintering onions, garlic and broad beans.  Also I have sown some green manure over one bed.  I had planned to do more, but ran out of time!

I have been harvesting carrots and beetroots for roasting, which is my favourite way to eat them.
Some of the carrots are gigantic!

Crafting
I have continued with my panel from Lisa Mattock's workshop.  When finished this will be attached to the side of a bag.
I knitted this sweet little witch and her familiar for Halloween.  Pattern by Susan B. Anderson.
I baked my usual pumpkin cookies for Halloween.
We enjoyed walking in the neighbourhood and looking at the decorations.

Also during October it was our 31st wedding anniversary.
