Autumn Calling

Autumn may well have been calling, but our topsy turvey weather then decided to throw in a heatwave in September!  One weekend we decided to revisit Danebury Hillfort for a short walk.
Wildflowers covered the chalk hill.

The hedgerows were full of autumn fruit.

I spotted two fox moth caterpillars in the grass.

Not a bad place to sit and knit.
The next weekend was even hotter and we had booked to go to the autumn flower show at RHS Wisley.  It was so hot and humid that I didn't take many photos.

We decided to picnic by the river where it was slightly cooler and we were rewarded with a sighting of a kingfisher.
A little refreshed, we walked around more of the garden.
