To celebrate my husband's birthday, I planned a mini break for us in Lymington on the coast of the New Forest.
Day 1
En route we stopped at the New Forest Cottage Garden for a look around and a spot of lunch.
Continuing our journey we arrived at Lymington and had a lovely walk.
Time to check into our hotel.
The next morning we drove to Hurst Spit for a walk along the shingle spit to Hurst Castle.
Hurst Castle was built by Henry VIII and later enlarged.
The natural habitat surrounding the castle was outstanding.
An evening walk at Hengistbury Head.
Heading home via the rose garden at Mottisfont.
Back home in time for cake.
