Summer in the Garden

The weather of summer 2023 was a real mixed bag!  We had prolonged periods of dry, followed by prolonged periods of wet.  Mostly the latter!

The garden became lush with all the rain.

I grew some cupcake cosmos from seed for the first time.

All of my annuals are grown from seed in our greenhouse.

I bought new dahlia tubers at the beginning of summer and they bloomed prolifically.

Incoming! :)

I enjoyed picking posies from the garden.

We had fewer BBQs this year, mainly due to the rain.

When it was hot, sitting in the shade of the hornbeam was a perfect place to stitch.

The tomatoes were slow to ripen, but then there was an abundance of them.
