Sowing Time Again

Spring is here and the warmer weather means that it is time to start sowing seeds for our garden and allotments.  As you can see the nights still get cold and frosty, but the sun soon warms everything up, including our neighbour's wonky fence that you can see steaming in this photo!
There have been lots of butterflies flying around the garden and the birds are building their nests.  Ladybirds are also coming out of hibernation.
On Sunday my Husband dug over our local allotment and I started sowing the seeds in the greenhouse.  These seeds are from Sarah Raven.
Hopefully my garden will be full of these this year:-
Ammi majus

Papaver somniferum "Dark Plum"

Daucus carota "Black Knight"

I have also ordered cuttings for this - The Abundant Chrysanthemum Collection.
At the end of April I will receive one cutting each of these:-
Chrysanthemum ‘Anastasia Green’ :: Chrysanthemum ‘Froggy’ :: Chrysanthemum ‘Porto Purple’ :: Chrysanthemum ‘Orange Allouise’ :: Chrysanthemum ‘Sheer Purple’ :: Chrysanthemum ‘John Riley’
My Mum and Dad have always grown chrysanthemums, but this will be my first attempt.

Whilst in the greenhouse I am, as always, kept company by several frogs, both large and small.

The purple-leaved plum in the front garden is full of blossom.
I'm hoping that the wind and rain will stay away so that the blossom will last a while.
The back garden is is beginning to bloom too.

I just love this time of year in the garden!

Hi Helen, thank you for your lovely comment. The frogs are very welcome in our garden as we have so many slugs and snails who at the moment they are eating my daffodils! Best wishes, Pj x
