The End of June

It's mid July and I'm only now posting about June!  We have been rather busy ...

The last weekend in June we popped up to Norfolk to stay with my parents.  My Dad's vegetable garden was looking mighty fine as always.

 The main reason for our trip was to help my Aunt J and Uncle B celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

The party was held at my Cousin J's home.  How lovely is this place?!

 The party was on the Sunday, so the day before we went shopping in Norwich.  Look what I came home with!  I've wanted one of these for ages and when I happened upon this beautiful machine I knew that she was coming home with me.  My poor Husband duly staggered back to the car with her.  Unfortunately the car was parked across the other side of the city centre and these old machines are heavy!

 Isn't she a thing of beauty?!

 I believe that she is a Model 28 from 1937.

 Included was this tin of attachments.  I'm not sure whether it is the original tin or whether this model would have had a cardboard box to hold the attachments.

 I need to find a manual before I start using Florence, as I've named her.  If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would be grateful.  Thankfully YouTube helped me to place this shuttle and bobbin back correctly! :)

 Back home again and it was my Husband's birthday

and I was back at work.

 Only 2 more weeks of term to go!

 I have managed to find time to finish my Springtime Throw Squares

and I've started to join them together.

 Unfortunately the crochet has been on hold this week whilst the living-room was being decorated by my Husband, because the house has been a mess with all of the living-room contents spread around the place.  Our home is quite small, so we have been tripping over things all week!  Thankfully everything is now back in place; all the china has been washed and my craft cupboard re-organised.  We plan to replace our old sofas this summer, so we were simply refreshing the walls  with the same colour, Timeless, before we get the new furniture and on the white work we have tried a water-based quick dry satinwood for the first time, instead of gloss.  It is supposed to not yellow over time, so we will see how that works out.  I will say that there has been minimum paint fumes which is a bonus.

So that just about brings my blog up-to-date with what I have been up to (I will post separately about the allotment and garden).  Today my Husband and Son are off to bring Fay home from uni for the summer, so we will be a family of four again for a few weeks.  Tomorrow I am off to Unwind at Brighton to feed my yarn addiction.  I suspect that I will be starting a new project as well!  I had planned to finish my WIP's before starting anything else, but there is going to be a mass cast on of the Pebble Beach Shawlette in the Pavilion Gardens tomorrow afternoon.  I have been admiring that pattern and it would be rude not to join in! :)  I'm hoping to meet Deb there.  Is anyone else going?  If you see me, please come and say hi.
