A Tale of Two Gardens ~ Part 2

Sissinghurst
After our trip to Perch Hill we couldn't go home without visiting Sissinghurst as it was so close by.  Sissinghurst Castle is world-famous as the home and garden of Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson.  We have visited this garden a couple of times before and it never fails to please.

 Nerine Bowdenii 'Praecox'
The Michaelmas Daisies were in full bloom throughout the garden.
De Havilland Tiger Moth G-ACDC was flying overhead.  It is the oldest flying Tiger Moth in the world.

We climbed the tower,
 which houses Vita's study.
There were glimpses of the garden
through the bubbled glass as we climbed.
At the top we enjoyed panoramic views of the garden and countryside.

Back down again and we continued our tour of the garden.
 Rosa 'Louis XIV'
There were so many beautiful Michaelmas Daisies

Aster Novae-Angliae 'Andenken An Alma Potschke'
 and Japanese Anemones.

 Rosa Floribunda 'News'

 Rosa 'Noble Antony'

 Aster Amellus 'Violet Queen'
The South Cottage garden was full of hot colours.
 Dahlia 'Brandaris'
 Gazania 'Cookei'
 Dahlia 'Bishop of LLandaff'
 Rosa 'Madame Alfred Carriere' (climbing)

 The Herb Garden
 The White Garden

Rosa Floribunda 'Iceberg'

 Rosa Hybrid Tea 'White Wings'
By then it was almost the end of the afternoon

and time for us to leave.

Great Pictures, and reminds me of my visit 7 years ago. I think there is a spot for Violet Green in my garden, so will look out for that in the Spring. Thanks.
