From Rags to Rugs

What do 2 pairs of men's trousers, a skirt and a 20 year old off-cut have in common?
They all became a knitted rag rug. We were having a sort out last week and filled a charity bag with clothes, but some were only good enough for rags. In a mad moment I decided to shred some of the clothes, knitted this rug and then wondered what to do with it. I placed it underneath a radiator and ...

... Ella knew just what it was for.
This is the loopy scarf that I knitted for Fay before Christmas.
Rolled up it looks like a fir cone to me!

I have discovered a new (to me that is) blog full of deliciousness, called

This is one of her recipes:-
Apple Custard Teacake
It was delicious warm and cold the next day. It followed roast pork and spiced apple sauce. My husband says that this is the best apple sauce ever!
It is very simple to make -
Peel, core and slice 3 eating apples and place in a small saucepan with 1-2 tbsp of water. When they have started to soften add a sprinkle of crushed, dried chillies. The amount can be adjusted to taste. When the apples are cooked through add a spoonful of sugar and a knob of butter, stir until melted. Puree the apples with the spoon. Allow to cool before serving.

Lol. I made a knitted rag rug last Boxing Day and my sneaky dog sleeps on it!
Thanks for the lovely comment you left about the lacey tie backs. I have kit for bobbin lace that I tried in my teens (a very long time ago) not tried it since, but never say never! I'll know where to come for some lessons.
