Spring is in the Air

The pond is full of frogspawn again,
the catkins and pussy willow are blooming,

fungi are growing on the tree stumps,

primroses and wood anenomes are flowering,
wild garlic is on the menu again,
and the sun is shining.

On Sunday we walked through woodland and admired the sculptures there.

Just behind our garden fence we meet two deer that risked running past us. What a treat to be so close to them.

The wild cherry plum is blossoming. We are hoping for some fruit this year. 2007 there was a bumper crop, but no fruit last year.

The butterflies are enjoying the spring sunshine. There have been Brimstones, Commas and Peacock butterflies in our garden this weekend.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

What a lovely set of springtime photos, I confess I don't like to see sculpture in natural areas - it just doesn't feel right to me. Each to his own though - the sighting of deer is much more my kind of thing - they have such beautiful faces.

What a beautiful photo journey you took us on. Thank you for sharing this. I love the sculptures in the woods, how fun, and beautiful. I just found your blog, and am enjoying looking around.

Hello everyone.
Rowan, I agree with you about art in natural areas but what you can't see in my photos is just how urban the area is - it is a small strip of woodland between houses, dual-carriageway and Tescos, all of which are a sad fact of where I live :(
Pixiedust, I haven't heard from my swap partner yet - I hope she is still taking part as I have sewn her name on one item! I hope I'll hear from her soon as I would like to post her parcel before we go away. If you could contact her it would be a great help thank you.

Welcome dowhatyoulove - it is always great to hear from someone new, hope you pop in again soon.

Best wishes, Pj x

What beautiful pictures, and how lucky to photograph the deer :) Well done on the assembling the flatpack. It's a nightmare, isn't it?!
