Two Stately Homes

During April we visited two stately homes.  The first was Warwick Castle, which was very impressive.

We walked the ramparts and climbed the many towers.

Inside the rooms were filled with antiquities.

Oliver Cromwell's death mask!

16th century embroidered handkerchief.

Tapestries woven in Delft in 1604.

Queen Anne's death bed.
Marie Antoinette's clock

Outside, the peacocks were displaying their tail feathers,

but the peahens were taking no notice! :)
Later in the month we returned to Hinton Ampner, a National Trust property,
to see the tulip displays

and to go for a walk around the estate.
