Focus on Ferns

The ferns are looking particularly lovely at the moment.

I love the way they unfurl,

how delicate they lookand yet they don't get attacked by the slugs and snails.

Unlike the hostas!

Yesterday the sun shone again, so I spent 2.5 hours at the allotment digging and weeding. I planted some of the courgettes out and 2 Turk's Turbans and 3 Hundredweight. Last night the Met Office forecast possible frosts this week - I hope that the squash plants survive. A few of the sweetcorn plants have been nibbled but the beans are okay so far. The gooseberry and blackcurrant bushes have baby fruit on them and the strawberries and raspberries are in full flower. I forgot the camera again!
